Option 1 — Delete it yourself, in the app
- Open the Deeply app and sign in
- Go to Settings
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account
- Confirm by typing the confirmation phrase and entering your password
- Tap Delete Account to finish
This takes effect immediately — there's no waiting period.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app (lost password, uninstalled it, or any other reason), email support@deeplydating.co.za from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We'll verify your identity and process the deletion, typically within a few business days.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted — through either method above — the following is removed:
- Your profile, including name, bio, and all preferences
- All uploaded photos and audio prompts
- Your messages and match history
- Your login credentials
What we keep, and why
A small amount of information is retained after deletion, for a limited period, only where we have a legitimate reason to:
| Data | Why it's kept |
|---|---|
| Records related to a report you made or were the subject of, or an enforcement action (ban/suspension) | So a banned user can't simply create a new account to evade enforcement |
| Transaction records (Sparks or verification purchases) | Required by tax and accounting law |
| Backup copies | Purged automatically within our normal backup retention cycle |
Outside of these limited cases, your personal information is deleted within a reasonable period. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
